Life is made up of moments. Little moments. Big moments. Moments of joy. Moments of challenge. Moments of uncertainty. And moments that reaffirm what we value. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted nearly every facet of the Westminster experience during the 2020-21 school year. We committed to providing a safe in-person learning experience. We pivoted (constantly). We took risks. There were certainly challenges and bumps along the way, but thanks to you, our students, faculty, and staff were able to be together for the moments that matter most.
The stories and pictures shared in this report reflect the heroic commitment, resilience, laughter, insight, and beauty of a Westminster family that is, indeed, stronger together. In the midst of a time like no other, our students grew. They discovered. They found in themselves a fortitude they didn’t know was there. Our faculty came together with a renewed sense of purpose around their calling to facilitate the curiosity and compassion of their students while supporting their academic, physical, and spiritual development. Although masked, distanced, and occasionally quarantined, our on-campus community found joy in being present—in fellowship, in classrooms (both virtual and in-person), on playing fields, in spaces new and old—and they came to understand that moments matter. Moments, when pieced and sewn together, create experiences that define who we are and who we may become.
Through the care and unwavering support of our donor community, our students and faculty were able to revel in connection, in being together when so many were apart, and in moments of both trial and triumph.
Every day at Westminster, your gifts translate into moments of opportunity. The collective promise of our students is fueled by your generosity and realized in small and big ways, both on campus and in communities throughout the world where Wildcats are creating, ideating, collaborating, and making a difference.
Your investment in Westminster and its people enabled a critical sense of normalcy during a moment that was anything but normal. And well beyond that, you buoyed us, cheered us on, and reminded us that the power of this place and this community is a shared gift. You, our donor community, made $34.5 million in philanthropic investments in 2020-21 in support of current and future Wildcats—a record since our founding 70 years ago. It is this steadfast and unwavering support that helps shape and nurture the hopes and dreams of Wildcats and ensures our Westminster community remains stronger together.
Thank you for your partnership, always.
With deepest gratitude,
