OUR CAMPUS & ATHLETICS FACILITIES

Westminster is situated on 180 acres in northwest Atlanta’s Buckhead community. Anchored by a historic quad of original buildings, Westminster’s campus offers state-of-the-art spaces for both academics and athletics. All of the School’s athletics facilities are located on-site, including cross-country trails, tennis courts, squash courts, an Olympic-size pool and diving well, and courts and fields for both practice and competition. Turner Gymnasium also has a fully equipped fitness room, a training room, and a climbing wall; adjacent to Turner Gymnasium are dedicated stadiums for baseball and softball. The newly renovated Alfred E. Thompson Stadium—home to Wildcat football, soccer, track and field, lacrosse, and more—has new home-team stands, halftime locker rooms for home and visiting teams, an athletic training room, and a press box large enough to accommodate coaches, commentators, and the School’s award-winning student broadcast team, WCAT. A welcoming community plaza connects the athletics complex to the rest of Westminster’s campus.

ABOUT WESTMINSTER

Founded in 1951, Westminster serves 1,896 students in grades pre-first through 12 from more than 79 zip codes throughout the Atlanta metro area. The School has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading independent schools, fulfilling its mission through a dynamic curriculum that engages children across the key dimensions of their growth—academic, physical, and spiritual.

Our students are curious by nature and nurtured by challenge, continually inspiring us to raise the bar. In turn, we give them the support and encouragement they need to pursue their passions and reach their highest potential. That’s the Wildcat Way.

LIVING IN ATLANTA

Atlanta has a rich history, including its important role in the Civil Rights movement, and a bright future thanks to booming tech and entertainment sectors and high-quality educational institutions.

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW
Lead the #1 Athletics Program in the Nation

The William Jenkins Love Endowed Chair for the Director of Athletics will design the future of athletics at Westminster. As a team leader, the Director will prioritize the development of coaches and players as part of the School’s broader mission to inspire a new generation of leaders for our community and nation. The Athletic Director reports directly to the President and is a member of the School’s senior leadership team. As a program architect, the Director will consider how developments in areas such as sports psychology, biomechanics, performance technology, and social media can further elevate Westminster’s nationally recognized program. Like our students, our Athletic Director will be ambitious, eager to take initiative while bringing a wholesome intensity to this role. Westminster’s athletics program is unique in its resources, complexity, and competitive success. Our next Athletic Director will be an accomplished leader and manager ready to join a community of enthusiastic and supportive Wildcats eager to participate in our program’s pursuit of excellence.
